Today begins the first day of my voyage to Haiti to conduct the field research that I have been building up to since September. I am hopeful that all will go well and that my research will run smoothy, but I understand the need for flexibility while working in the ever changing environment in Haiti. Fortunately,I will be welcomed by new friends and colleagues. I look forward to my arrival in Port-au-Prince and the knowledge that I will gain not only through my research, but also through the Haitians that I will interact with.
Please refer to the research page for the background information of my studies on post-disaster redevelopment and the transformation of the ‘lakou’ in transitional, temporary settlements.
